Holidays are good at any time of the year, but in summer it is special. We hope this article will be useful to those who are going on vacation with a child. Let’s be clear right away – we’re talking about vacation with small child, primary school student, maximum. Vacationing with teenagers is a completely different story.

Holidays with children require careful planning. The younger the child, the more seriously you need to take the preparation. But do not rush to get scared in advance - the mission is possible.

At what age can a child go to the resort?

There are enough stories of parents on the Internet about traveling with very young children, even babies. But pediatricians do not advise children under one year old to drastically change the climate, so it is better to spend a vacation with such a baby within your own climatic zone.

After a year, the child's body, which has become stronger, will more easily endure long-distance journeys. But be sure to take into account the time for acclimatization. The average period of adaptation of a baby under the age of three years is about 7 days. Therefore, a week-long vacation with children at sea can not only not improve the health of the kids, but even harm their health. The duration of such a rest recommended by doctors is at least two, and preferably three weeks.

In children older than three years, acclimatization is faster, they are easier to transfer. Moreover, at this age they are already interested in travel experiences. But you should give the child time to adapt. When changing the time zone, try to change the daily routine gradually, introduce new loads in doses (swimming, sunbathing, etc.), do not allow a sharp change in the children's menu.

Where to go with children?

When choosing a place for children's summer holidays, pay attention to the medical recommendation - do not drastically change the season. A short trip in the middle of winter to the sunny Maldives is, of course, a holiday. But a sharp change in climate twice in a few days can weaken even an adult body, what can we say about children's health? It is better to choose sparing options - in winter to ski resorts, and in summer - to a sunny beach.

If you are planning a trip to another country, be sure to study the climate. The rainy season, the peak of the summer heat, the unfavorable epidemiological situation - these factors make the trip unsuitable for children.

If the conditions of the resort suit you, you can choose a hotel. Feel free to ask the tour operator meticulous questions, answering them is his job.

Here's what you should be interested in:

  • availability of an extra bed in the room,
  • sea depth off the coast
  • purity of sea water
  • work of children's animators,
  • smoking restrictions,
  • children's menu,
  • refrigerator and microwave in the room
  • availability of an elevator.

Think and figure out every little thing.

What to bring

A vacation with a baby makes the task of packing suitcases much more difficult, especially if it is a vacation with a child under one year old. Inverse proportionality rule - the smaller the child, the more things.

First of all, check the documents - a passport, consent to leave a child, etc. Check the list of required documents with the tour operator, on specialized sites, etc.

Experienced travelers advise not to pack your suitcases completely. Surely on vacation you will buy souvenirs, new toys, some new clothes - reserve a place for them in advance so that you don’t suffer with a bunch of additional packages later. And most importantly - the suitcase must be lifting.

If you're traveling by air, check the weight limits for free baggage in advance so you don't have to rush to repack your suitcases at the airport. But even when traveling by train or bus, it is advisable to have suitcases of reasonable weight and dimensions.

Do not forget to put the most necessary things in a separate bag or backpack - wet disinfectant wipes, drinking water, change of clothes for the child, travel toys, hygiene items, etc. By the way, some of the things can easily fit into a children's backpack, and the kid will proudly carry his things himself.

When determining what to take your child on vacation, be sure to think about how you will entertain the child on the road and on vacation. Young children are not inclined to look philosophically at the landscape outside the window. And others are not obliged to endure the crying and whims of your wonderful baby.

Take with you your favorite toys, coloring books and pencils, books with colorful pictures, download cartoons and toys to your tablet - who, if not parents, knows what will captivate a precious child for a long time. And be ready to take care of your child on the road - play with him, read books, tell fairy tales, etc.

The supply of food depends on the duration of the trip and the age of the child. In any case, perishable dairy and meat products are excluded. For kids, children's canned food, dry cereals, fruits, cookies are very convenient.

Boiling water can always be found at the conductor or at the station, you just need to take a thermos with you. On the road, disposable tableware is convenient. And don't risk buying food from random roadside vendors.

But take a minimum of things for yourself. Bulky luggage, especially when traveling with a child, will destroy all the pleasure of the rest. If you are going on vacation with a child, then attending social events is hardly included in your plans. So, evening dresses, tuxedos and stilettos can be safely left at home. Shoes and clothes should be comfortable so that you can keep up with a nimble baby.

What do we put in the first aid kit?

We’ll make a reservation right away - you don’t need to stuff half a suitcase with medicines. If, God forbid, something serious happens, you should immediately consult a doctor and follow his recommendations, including medications. And you need to take medicines for first aid with you. General recommendations for the composition of the first aid kit:

  • thermometer;
  • means for treating wounds: iodine, bandage, plaster, cotton wool;
  • antiseptics;
  • drugs for intestinal infections;
  • antiallergic;
  • antipyretic;
  • painkillers;
  • ear and eye drops;
  • throat spray and nose drops - if the child is prone to colds;
  • remedies for motion sickness;
  • beach sun protection.

For the choice of specific drugs, it is useful to consult with your pediatrician, especially if there are chronic diseases - he will give recommendations taking into account the individual characteristics of the child's health.

Take care of health insurance when traveling with a child abroad. And useful advice from experienced travelers: if there is no usual medicine in a pharmacy in another country, tell the pharmacist the main active ingredient (write down its Latin name on a piece of paper), and he will select an analogue for you.

How to get there

Long distance travel involves transport. Your task is to make it as comfortable as possible for yourself and the child. What can (and should) be done?

Remember that any train station or airport has a Mother and Child Room. At a minimum, a toilet, a washbasin and a crib with clean linen will be provided. This is especially convenient if you have to wait for a transplant.

Airplane

When traveling by plane with a small child, ask for a carrycot. The cot, designed for a child weighing up to 11 kg, will allow you not to hold the baby in your arms for the entire flight.

Experienced mothers are advised to purchase vasoconstrictor nasal drops. If 15-20 minutes before takeoff and landing, drop one or two drops into the nose, then the baby will not lay his ears.

Swallowing also helps relieve pressure in the ears. Therefore, you can give the baby a bottle, and buy a lollipop for an older child. Do not forget about the restrictions on the carriage of liquids - containers of no more than 100 ml are allowed in hand luggage.

Train

Traveling on a train scares mothers with the possibility of a baby falling off a shelf. You can ask the conductor for special safety belts. An even more reliable and convenient means is a special arena for the train. This compact folding design is secured to the shelf with straps so that the baby is in a four-wall playpen. However, experienced travelers manage with an ordinary sheet, to which ropes are sewn from four corners.

Bus

Bus travel, especially a long one, can be difficult for a child. Choose seats closer to the front door - there is less motion sickness. Be sure to stock up on anti-nausea pills. From drinks, give preference to plain water.

Grab the socks so that the child can take off the shoes - it will be easier for the legs. On a long trip, a light massage will be helpful to relieve the tension from sitting for a long time. And think about what you will do with your child.

Automobile

A trip in a family car is comfortable because you can get settled without looking at others. A car seat for a small child is mandatory, and a folding one. The route should be laid taking into account overnight stays in hotels, where you can relax, put yourself in order, eat hot. But daytime stops, according to experienced parents, are mandatory - the child should be able to warm up. And again - the child must be occupied with something.

Vacation with a backpack

If you prefer to spend your holidays in nature, then a small child is quite capable of sharing it with you. There are enough thematic sites on the Internet where experienced parents talk about their outdoor recreation with children. And you don’t have to go far, you can organize a wonderful vacation with children in the same suburbs.

Of course, the presence of children on a hike imposes restrictions on the speed of movement, the complexity of the route, and the distance of the transition. Nevertheless, they raft down the rivers with children, go on bicycle routes, go on forest hikes and even in the mountains. But the presence of experienced tourists and increased attention to the safety of children on such trips is a must!

Conclusion

Every day it gets hotter and hotter outside. And every day we are getting closer and closer to summer. And when summer comes, we can go to the beach and enjoy life to the fullest! But what about those who do not have a good beach nearby? How to be it? We know where you can go to relax in the summer of 2019 with a child at sea abroad, so that it is inexpensive and comfortable. Check out our recommendations and make your choice.

Holidays on the islands.

Vacationing with children on the islands is very cool. Firstly, there are not many tourists there. Not everyone loves the islands, as it is sometimes expensive to relax on them. Secondly, if this is an island, then it is washed by water from all sides. So the coast of the island and the beaches are sandy, and the sand there is white and clean! Thirdly, rest on the islands is the most beautiful thing in the world.
But where to go? We invite you to visit the island of Mauritius, which is located in the Indian Ocean and is located near Madagascar. A beautiful island, where kind and friendly people live. Vacationers are always welcome here and tourism on the island is very well developed.
True, there is one BUT that can scare away tourists. And this but - the price of food. Still, Mauritius is not a big island, and growing wheat or raising animals on it is a bad thing. Therefore, all the food on the island is imported and is expensive. But this is the only negative. And everything else, including weather and water temperature, is just a plus.

Holidays with children in Europe.

Europe is the main place where they fly on vacation with children. And there are many directions, you just need to choose the one that you like the most.
For example, the budget option is Bulgaria and Golden Sands resorts. Prices here are sometimes lower than in Russia, and rest is an order of magnitude higher. Summer in Bulgaria is just wonderful weather. There is no wild heat here, no strong burning winds, and the weather almost does not change all summer. Therefore, it is here that people come with children and spend time.
Also, tourists with children fly to Greece, where prices are also not the highest. But holidays in Greece can be overshadowed by intense heat and drought. Still, the location of the country makes itself felt. Therefore, choosing Greece, you need to be careful. It is advisable during the day, when the sun shines most actively, to sit in a hotel room with air conditioning. And visit the beaches and other entertainment before lunch and after dinner.

Asian countries.

Traveling with a child to the countries of Southeast Asia in the summer is not recommended. For example, in Vietnam, there are many vacationers in the famous resort of Nha Trang. People fly here from all over the world. But in the summer here every day the temperature is always above +30 degrees. And at night it is slightly below +26 degrees. The water in the sea is warm and warms up to +28 degrees. And everything seems to be great, but not quite so. Due to the intense heat, you are unlikely to be able to stay with your child for a long time on the beach. you will have to visit the beach in the morning and in the evening when the sun hides behind the horizon. Otherwise, you cannot avoid skin burns, especially in children.
Also at this time of the year in the resorts of Asia, there are often heavy showers with thunderstorms. Still, heat and drought, plus a lot of water, and you get heavy downpours that can turn into a storm. And to get with a child in such weather is not the best.
But still, tourists come here and relax with their children. After all, there are hotels for couples with children. Plus, hotels have their own pools with areas for children. And parents relax near the pool with their children.

The beginning of summer is also the start of the “migratory” season for parents: the child needs to be urgently taken to warmer climes to buy and have fun. We found out which countries are best for families with children.

4-12 months: good where mom is

Purpose: to let parents have fun. Now many pediatricians do not mind traveling with babies. The main thing is that the child is healthy, and the trip lasts more than three weeks - in this case, acclimatization will pass smoothly and imperceptibly. It is very important to provide yourself and the baby with the most comfortable living conditions and make sure that qualified medical care, if anything, will be provided immediately. A very young traveler is usually not afraid of a change of scenery: he eats with appetite, sleeps for a long time and, along the way, learns the world around him with pleasure. The tasks of the parents accompanying him, in general, are the same - to sleep, swim and relax.

Experienced advice. If the baby is more than six months old, a hefty supply of baby food will be added to the luggage: complementary foods are in full swing, and the usual food may not be at the destination. In addition to the stroller, bring a sling or a carrier: hands-free at the resort will be very useful to you. Diapers and hygiene products can be found on the spot, but sunscreen (with an SPF of at least 50 and marked “allowed for use by children under one year old”) is better to test at home: what if the crumbs are allergic to it?

Italy. Schengen visa. The resorts here are located on four seas - the Adriatic, Ionian, Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean (the islands of Sicily and Sardinia). Popular tourist areas are Tuscany, Calabria and Ischia (here, in addition to the sea, there are hot thermal springs).

Greece. Schengen visa. Numerous Greek islands are quite suitable for families, but with children they often come to Crete and Kos, as well as the Halkidiki peninsula. The air humidity here is low, and the heat is easier to bear than, for example, in Turkey.

Croatia. Attention: from July 1, 2013, citizens of Russia will need a national Croatian visa to enter (until this date, you can get by with a Schengen visa). An excellent country for a quiet family vacation: the sea is warm and clear, the weather is almost always excellent, and there is also the opportunity to go to Italy on a one-day excursion.

Where to live? Pay attention to small coastal hotels and private hotels. They usually have from 5 to 20 rooms, the owners themselves take care of the guests. You can order breakfast, lunch and dinner or eat at nearby restaurants. As a rule, there is a private garden and a small pool. Another convenient accommodation option is villas or cottages.

1-2 years: everything is so interesting!

Purpose: to see and touch. Neither mass organized entertainment nor communication with peers are of particular interest to kids yet, but they really appreciate new tactile sensations. Splashing, pouring water from a bucket into molds, digging up the beach, building sand castles, folding patterns from pebbles, collecting sticks with shells and looking at flowers - the little one is ready to do all this all day long. At this age, children are especially complacent about swimming, so choose accommodation closer to the beach, and also get a small inflatable pool that can be placed under an umbrella and filled with sea water.

Experienced advice. Up to two years, the baby can fly on an airplane without a ticket (but without his own seat). However, for a child, you can still buy a ticket at a child fare: it is cheaper than an adult, and you will certainly need a free seat. Holding a merry two-year-old in your arms for several hours is a dubious pleasure.

Where? It is better to spend a vacation in a country with a mild climate and diverse landscapes: let there be not only the sea with a promenade for walking, but also forests, parks, squares.

Turkey. You do not need to make a visa in advance: a stamp is placed in the passport when crossing the border. It is better to come here in mid-June, when the sea warms up enough. But in August it gets too hot. Look for clean sand, pine forests and healthy air in Belek, pebble beaches and green parks in Kemer, and modern comfortable hotels in Side.

the Baltics(Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). Schengen visa. The most comfortable time for rest is from mid-July to the end of August. Keep in mind that the weather here is quite unstable, clouds and wind can quickly give way to the sun - and vice versa. But there are also advantages: a very shallow refreshing sea, clean beaches, beautiful pine groves and excellent playgrounds.

Montenegro. If your holiday will last more than a month, you will need a tourist visa. You can get it (for a period of 3 or 6 months) at the local police station or in advance - at the Embassy of Montenegro. It is not very convenient to move around with a stroller here: the coast is quite hilly, and the cities are built in "tiers", and there are many stairs in them. But here is a clean and warm sea, delicious food and very beautiful mountains.

Where to live? Apartment (or apart-hotel) - a residential complex with apartments: there are one or two bedrooms and a living room, usually combined with a kitchen. Cottages or villas are also suitable - certainly with a kitchen where you can easily prepare children's food.

3-4 years: play with me!

Purpose: to have fun. The kid has already grown up and spends most of the time in the "I myself!" mode. It's time for an all-inclusive holiday. Its main advantage is that you do not have to worry about food or entertainment: the right hotel will offer it all in stock.

Where? Where there are large tourist complexes with water parks, children's clubs and Russian-speaking animators. Advice: study the programs offered to kids in advance - these can be dance or singing competitions, preparation for a masquerade or a pirate party, culinary master classes in cooking pizza and cookies, etc.

Turkey and Greece. Choose club hotels on the first line, with their own green area and different types of rooms - in large buildings or separate villas.

Spain. You will need a Schengen visa. Popular areas are Costa Brava and Costa Dorada, small hotels are usually located across the road from the beaches. You can also consider the coast of Almeria (Andalusia): tourists began to explore this area not so long ago, the hotels here are new and comfortable, and nearby there are unique nature reserves - for example, the Cabo de Gato park with volcanic rocks and large pink flamingos.

Cyprus. An application for a tourist pro-visa can be filled out on the website of the Cypriot embassy. In response, you will be sent a confirmation with a number that you will need to show at the airport and get a stamp in your passport.

The climate and landscapes here are similar to the Crimean ones - not too hot, a lot of greenery, the sand on the beaches is fine and clean. Traditional places for family holidays are Limassol and Larnaca. Be sure to visit the water park and the dolphinarium!

Where to live? The best choice is hotels or large hotel complexes with their own (sometimes downright gigantic) territory and developed infrastructure. There are restaurants and playgrounds, mini zoos and water parks, a team of cheerful animators, children's clubs, and a mandatory evening disco. In addition, hourly babysitting services are offered.

5-6 years: I want to know everything!

Purpose: to be interesting. Curiosity peaks at this age, so don't waste your time: when choosing a route, plan "radial" trips, excursions and visits to amusement parks.

Where? You can already pay attention to the countries that offer "civilized" forms of entertainment.

Spain. We advise you to focus on the capital. Right in the city is the largest oceanarium in Europe with hundreds of species of underwater flora and fauna. And not far from Barcelona is one of the largest children's parks "PortAventura" - with attractions for every taste and playgrounds.

Denmark. Schengen visa. Billund is home to the famous Legoland theme park. Absolutely everything has been created here from Lego parts - houses and parks, playgrounds and world attractions in miniature, for example, the Statue of Liberty and Big Ben. Of course, the main entertainment here is the independent construction of new art objects.

France. Schengen visa. Here, of course, Disneyland near Paris deserves the closest attention - a fairy-tale world with attractions for children and adults. We recommend that you take a look at the corner dedicated to the Walt Disney Film Studio: this is a real film set with pavilions where you can see how cartoons and shows are created, as well as learn the secrets of some special effects. In addition, we advise you to look into Breteuil Castle ("Puss in Boots' Domain") to get to know the heroes of Charles Perrault's fairy tales better, climb through labyrinths and have a picnic in a mysterious forest. Another point of the French program is a visit to the Paris Museum of Science: this is a whole city where many secrets of the world around will be revealed to the child.

Sweden. Schengen visa. In the center of Stockholm, there is the fabulous Junibacken Museum dedicated to the heroes of the works of Astrid Lindgren: Emil from Lenneberga, Pippi Longstocking and Karlsson, who lives on the roof, are waiting for the kids.

Where to live? In addition to city hotels, it makes sense to consider other accommodation options: in a villa (a separate house with a small private territory), in a cottage (the same villa, but designed for 2-4 families) or in a campsite for tourists traveling by car. On the campsite, you can set up a tent or rent a very simple small house with a minimum of amenities.
